Introducing Dreamees

Tell us more about you and Dreamees?

I’m Hayley, the founder of Dreamees – I established the company in 2010 just after leaving college. I originally started the business alongside studying my English degree at the Open University after a customer at a local craft shop saw me doodling and suggested making the doodles into stamps. Luckily, the craft shop manufactured stamps for larger companies and offered to do a small run for me, allowing me to test it out. We went to our first small retail show in Sheffield, at the Bramall Lane Stadium, and sold £50.00 of products. I was so chuffed and knew from that day that I wanted to share crafting with as many people as possible with an affordable, unique range of products.

How did you get into crafting?

I’ve been crafting since I was little - we rescued an American Cocker Spaniel and wanted to help raise money for the rescue afterwards. My Mum has always crafted and we ended up buying some papercraft products to dabble, in the hopes we’d be able to sell handmade cards for charity. The initial decoupage quickly became stamping, embossing, die-cutting, CD crafting, etc. until it took over everything!

When was your first show on HobbyMaker and what did you launch?

We joined HobbyMaker in May 2022 and launched our first EVER cardmaking kits. We launched them exclusively and had a complete sell-out during the first hour with our ‘Distressed Botanicals’ kit!

What's your favourite craft project?

I love making cards like these that have a bit of movement by using two card blanks instead of just one. It gives me lots of space to fill with pretty papers and embellishments which are my favourite thing to use!

What's your go-to Karaoke Anthem?

Currently I’d be picking Lizzo’s ‘About Damn Time!’ or if I’m going full on classic, I LOVE Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Dancing in the Dark’.

If you could be any animal, what would it be? And why?

A dolphin, I’d love to be swimming around all day, care-free in the sea!
