Tell us more about Parchcraft Australia UK?

I am Meryl Marriott the owner of ParchCraft Australia (UK) since March 2020 after purchasing the business from the original owners in Australia.

How did you get into crafting?

I have always been crafty, as a child I made furniture for my dolls from cereal boxes, I use to knit, crochet and sew. Things just progressed from one craft to another and here I am now, teaching parchment craft, designing and making acrylic templates which makes parchment craft more accessible to many people who would otherwise never have tried the craft.

When was your first show on HobbyMaker and what did you launch?

My first show was on 8th March 2022, right at the beginning of HobbyMaker!

What's your favourite craft project?

I have two favourite crafts one being cold porcelain paste and the other parchment craft. Due to time or the lack of spare time I find that I spend less and less making flowers with cold porcelain paste. I do still thoroughly enjoy parchment craft because it is so relaxing to sit and colour or emboss at the end of the day.

What's your go-to Karaoke Anthem?

I will survive 😊 – only song I know all the words to but don’t ask me to sing it because I am completely tone deaf.

If you could be any animal, what would it be? And why?

My cat – He gets cuddles when he wants, he sleeps almost all day (and night) his meals are ready just when he wants to eat.
