What has been your favourite moment on HobbyMaker over the past year?

Our launch was an incredible moment the customer sentiment and the smile on the teams faces I’ll never forget. Since then, we’ve had some incredible moments which are often not captured on air. Overall, though the smiles, laughter and excitement that continues to grow every day is a daily favourite.

What’s the best craft tip you’ve come across?

Nothing’s ever ruined. Any mistake, hiccup or blip can be reversed and most of the time creates the best pieces.

I made some candles, a few stretchy bracelets and a few questionable cards covered in glitter at home with my daughters.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

Very clique but a footballer…then a musician and then a footballer again.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Escapism reality TV. I know it’s wrong but Keeping up with the Kardashians is on the list.

I wanted to be a police officer when I was growing up. Then the local radio opened and I wanted to become a DJ a job I did for the first 15 years of my career.

What has been your favourite moment on HobbyMaker over the past year?

It’s impossible to choose a favourite moment as the whole year has been brilliant! I've loved seeing the channel grow and develop and getting to work with such talented demonstrators means each day is full of 'favourite' moments.

What’s the best craft tip you’ve come across?

Use red liner tape to create amazing backgrounds with your glitters, or gilding flakes. Also love the shaving foam trick that Pauline Wheeler showed me on one of our first shows together. Me and Bowie, my 3-year-old, have loved creating gorgeous marble effect backgrounds from this.

Did you do any crafting over the past year?

I made all my Christmas cards thanks to a brilliant kit from Hunkydory. Also loved using Creative Expressions Toy Story card making pad. Plus I've continued scrapbooking, it just looks a lot better since I've learnt lots of tips from our amazing demonstrators.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

A weather presenter, but only so that I could alternate between sun and snow each day. I couldn’t understand why they chose rain and wind…. It was only when I was a bit older that I realised they didn't get to choose the weather haha!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate... and a romcom.

What has been your favourite moment on HobbyMaker over the past year?

At the risk of sounding self-indulgent – my birthday celebrations was a real highlight for me. The team really pushed the boat out and filled the day with surprises – bargains – and our very own microfibre cloths! It was lovely to share it with the viewers and customers.

What’s the best craft tip you’ve come across?

It’s an old one – but backing on red liner tape sticks to anything because of static. Put a microfibre cloth next to you – and it stays there instead!

Did you do any crafting over the past year?

Yes – I made a calendar for Loen, my wife – which I do every year. I also made a card for her birthday from our dog, Dallas.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

A cartoonist. I could draw and was hilarious. One of these statements is no longer true.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Not so much recently – but I am a big wrestling fan. So I watch both WWE and AEW. It’s soap opera for men!

What has been your favourite moment on HobbyMaker over the past year?

Strangely enough, I would have to say Christmas in June! Being new into the role, this was the first big campaign I got to work on and getting into the Christmas spirit half way through the year was a completely new but enjoyable experience for me. Along with something a little more recent, Andy Love’s Birthday show! We love a celebration here at HobbyMaker 😊

As I’ve mentioned, I’m not much of a crafter, however, for Christmas last year, I bought a lot of family and friends tickets to different shows and gigs and rather than just printing out the email receipt, I designed and constructed my own versions of tickets for them to open.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

From about the age of 13, I wanted to be a midwife. When I left school I took the relevant studies to do so, and during my A levels I had to take an extra subject, so I chose media and from there the course of the rest of my career path completely changed.

The launch of the HobbyMaker gift card. Along with the help in house graphic designer Dionne, we helped bring this product to the website. As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I knew from an early age that I wanted to see the world, so travel was always on the cards. I also wanted to be a hairdresser, however my skills in that department leave a lot to be desired - I once cut my own hair so I could add fur to a picture of a cat. It was a disaster!!

There are a few too many - Emily in Paris, Chocolate, gin, eating Nutella with a spoon…do I really feel guilty though? Not really 😂

What has been your favourite moment on HobbyMaker over the past year?

I might not be allowed to say this but… probably the moments we don’t always catch, the ones we try and let slip from the audience… a slip of the tongue from a presenter or guest, merging of two words accidentally to make a naughty one… it is live TV after all! Talking for hours on end can’t be easy, and accidents happen! And I love to laugh along to them. Other than that, any time the audience get involved, messages and emails to the studio, playing games, I just love the interaction!

What’s the best craft tip you’ve come across?

A butterfly, flower or button will cover any mistake and never look out of place!

Did you do any crafting over the past year?

Yes! I made a few cards for friends and family, mainly using the Gemini Midi we keep on the desk in the office… it's just so convenient! My next challenge is going to be to make a box… no matter how simple they make it look with the Adorable Scoreboard, I still get scared I’ll do it wrong!

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

A police officer, or a teacher, or a ballerina! I couldn’t make up my mind!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I love a good podcast, especially a mystery or true crime!

Popping a little glue onto the back of foam pads, to give you some wiggle whilst placing in position.

I left it a little late but made my first ever Christmas Cards for my nearest and dearest on Christmas Eve. I was so excited to see their faces when they realised they were made just for them by me.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

An actress. I always dreamed of being on the stage in a musical. I have been lucky to play the lead in lots of musicals, including West Side Story, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Little Shop Of Horrors, Chess and more slightly less well-known musicals. I even beat all the boys in Junior School, to play the Artful Dodger in Oliver, at just age 7. Sadly, I never made it to the West End and Broadway, as in my dreams…

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Am I daring to admit to watching TOWIE and Love Island when they are on?
