How to make your own gift card holder

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE - HOW TO CREATE A GIFT CARD HOLDER

Gift cards make great presents! Make it unique with a handmade gift card holder. Follow these simple steps and create your own. We have created ours with a Christmas theme, however you can easily adapt to make one for a birthday, christening or other occasion.

Craft Products used

  • 1x Cardstock 7 ¾” x 5”
  • 1x strip of Cardstock 1”x 8”
  • 2x Patterned Paper 4 ¾” x 2 ¼” & 4 ¾” x 1 ½”
  • 1 x white card 4 ¾” x 1 ½”
  • Glue
  • Double sided tape
  • Stamps
  • Ink Pads
  • Fiskars Small Circle Punch
  • Cutterpillar Crop
  • Cutterpillar Crease

Step One

Cut a piece of cardstock to 7 ¾” x 5”. Score at 2 ½” x 6”. This will create the base of your gift card holder.

Step Two

Cut two pieces of patterned paper 4 ¾” x 2 ¼” & 4 ¾” x 1 ½”. The 4 ¾” x 2 ¼” piece will matt onto the bottom of your card and the 4 ¾” x 1 ½”piece will matt onto the outer top flap.

Step Three

Stamp a sentiment onto a piece of white card which is 4 ¾” x 1 ½”. Using double sided tape stick onto the inner top flap.

Step Four

Run some double sided tape along each side of the bottom front and stick down to create your gift card pocket.

Step Five

Should you want to create a finger slot to make getting the gift card out easier, use a circle punch to cut out a semi circular slot.

Step Six

To make a band, cut a piece of matching cardstock 1”x8” and score at 6 1/8” x 2 ½”. Pop some glue or tape on the end to secure your band.

Step Seven

Use a stamp or topper from your craft stash to attach to the band to create a focal point on your gift card holder.
