This acetate box can be filled with lots of treats and goodies then decorated for any occasion.
Craft Products Used
- Cutterpillar Pro or Crop
- Cutterpillar Crease
- American Crafts Cardstock
- A4 Acetate Sheet
- Ribbon
- Patterned Papers
- Crop-a-dile
- Label die
- Stamp & Ink
- Double sided tape / glue
Step One
Using your Cutterpillar paper trimmer cut 2x 4.75” squares. Then using the Cutterpillar crease score a 1” border on all 4 sides of the square.
Step Two
Put your A4 Acetate sheet long side onto the scoreboard and score at 2.75”, 5.5”, 8.25” & 11”.
Step Three
To create the top and base of your box take the 4.75” square and burnish the 1” border.
Step Four
Make a small cut on all four corners of the square to make tabs, pop some double-sided tape or glue on and stick tabs on all sides to create your base. Repeat this process for the box lid.
Step Five
Burnish the score lines on the Acetate sheet. Run some red liner double sided tape along the 1.25” strip and stick to create a box shape.
Step Six
Put some double-sided tape on the side walls of your base then slot the acetate box into it and press to secure all four sides.
Step 7
To create your box lid with handle, use your crop-a-dile or punch to make a hole in the middle on one side of the lid and repeat this process on the opposite side. Pop the lid onto the box and using a pen mark the holes onto the acetate, pop the lid back off and make your holes in the acetate where marked.
Step Eight
Cut a piece of ribbon approx. 10” long. Knot the end of your ribbon. Starting on one side of the inner box, thread your ribbon outwards through the lid up and over the top then through the lid and back into the inner box on the opposite side from where you started, knot the end to secure your box handle.
Step Nine
Cut some strips of patterned paper for decoration.
1 strip 12.25” X 0.75”
2 strips 2.5” x 0.75”
Run the long strip around the bottom of your box for a decorative border. Then pop the matching 2 strips on the front and back of your box lid.
Step Ten
Cut a label using a die or punch from your crafty stash. Stamp on your sentiment and stick to the front of your box. You can stamp and colour an image to use for embellishment. Tie a small bow in matching ribbon to the box handle and stick-on corner of label using 3d glue (allow to cure).
Fill your box with treats or a small gift for someone special.
