Pumpkin One – Paper Fold
Step One
Using the template cut 12 pumpkin shapes out of coloured card or patterned papers. Score and fold each pumpkin in half. (They will now look a little like a D shape).
Step Two
Glue each of the 12 pumpkins back-to-back to create a pumpkin shape.
Step Three
Cut a small piece of brown card approx. 4cm x 6cm, roll tightly and glue the end to create a stalk. Pop some glue around the bottom and push into the centre of the pumpkin leaving some of the stalk sticking out.
Step Four
Cut 2 or 3 leaves out of coordinating card or papers. Glue your leaves around the stalk.
Top tip
For added dimension cut thin strips of papers and wrap around a quilling tool to create a paper curl, glue them to the top of leaves.
Pumpkin Two – Old Book Pages
Step One
Take an old book and remove the cover to reveal the spine. Separate the book in half.
Step Two
Using your pumpkin template draw around half of the pumpkin so the spine will be the centre of your pumpkin. Use scissors or a craft knife to cut out your pumpkin.
Step Three
Glue the front page to the back to create a pumpkin shape, (the spine will now be the centre of your pumpkin). Separate and fluff your book pages.
Step Four
Add some colour to your pumpkin by inking the edge of the pages or use the We R Memory Keepers Airbrush to spray colour onto the pages.
Step Five
Find some small twigs in the garden and cut them to approx. 5 cm. Stick the twigs into the middle of your pumpkin then tie a piece of plain or patterned ribbon to make a bow.
Pumpkin Three – Paper Strips Faux Tealight
Step One
Cut 10 x strips of card or patterned paper 6” x ¾”. Using a crop-a-dile. Punch a hole at either end of the strips approx. 1/2cm from the end.
Step Two
Ink the edges of your paper strips.
Top Tip You could always stamp a pattern onto plain cardstock to create your own design.
Step Three
Push your brad through the holes to secure your strips together, repeat this process on both ends.
Step Four
Separate your strips evenly to create a pumpkin shape.
Step Five
Using the circle template on the free pumpkin template sheet, cut and stick them to the base of your pumpkin for stability.
Step Six
Cut several leaves in coordinating colours using the template or your own cutting dies (you could add detail onto your leaves at this point using your white or black fine line pens). Cut thin strips of paper and twist around a quilling to create paper curls.
Step Seven
Using a paper forming tool gently shape your leaves in the palm of your hand, this will give added dimension. Glue them to the top of the pumpkin around the brad.
Step Eight
Separate a piece of twine to make a thinner strand and thread through your button and tie a bow using 3D glue stick this over the brad at the top of your pumpkin.
To create something extra special pop a faux tealight inside the pumpkin and look at it glow.
