Heat Embossing for handmade cards

Craft products used

  • White card blank (HobbyMaker Essentials)
  • Black card
  • Gold mirri card
  • Patterned Embossing folder
  • Heat Gun
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Embossing Ink Pad
  • Adhesive
  • Double sided tape
  • WeR Makers Revolution Machine

Step One

Trim your black and gold cardstock down to create matt and layers for the card blank. Trim down to ¼ inch between each layer.

Step Two

Using your die cutting & embossing machine, pop your black card into the embossing folder and run through to create your embossed design.

Step Three

Using double sided tape or adhesive of your choice stick your matt and layers together.

Step four

Stamp a sentiment onto a small piece of black card using an embossing ink pad then sprinkle your gold embossing powder onto the stamped area.

Step Five

Tap any excess embossing powder off the card and add it back into your pot. If you find there are any bits of embossing powder remaining on your card where you don’t want it, use a dry brush and gently remove from your card.

Step six

Turn on your heat gun and move over the embossing powder until it melts.

Step Seven

Trim around your sentiment and matt onto some gold mirri to make it pop.

Step Eight

Raise your sentiment with some 3D foam pads for dimension and add to the front of your card.

Step Nine

Add gems or embellishments of your choice.
